AIA Council Member Celebrated on Cover of Yorkshire Businesswoman Magazine

08 Oct 2024

Congratulations to AIA Council Member Sharon Kaur Jandu OBE, who has been featured on the cover of this month’s Yorkshire Businesswoman magazine!

A valued member of the AIA Council since 2022, Sharon has provided insightful guidance on AIA’s governance and strategic direction. Her wealth of experience has been instrumental in shaping our organisation’s key objectives and initiatives.

In addition to her role with AIA, Sharon is Managing Director of Global Enterprise Links (GEL), and the Chair of the Northern Asian Power-group Policy Think Tank—an independent policy and advisory body based in the North. She is also a founding member of Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA), which serves as a vital voice for the Yorkshire Asian business community at regional, national and international levels.

In this inspiring feature, Sharon opens up about the challenges and triumphs that have defined her entrepreneurial journey, from balancing motherhood and studies to launching her first start-up and establishing the NPH Ethnic Minority Business & Policy Forum.

“I did set up a PR & Marketing company 20 years ago that was a side hustle and even though I was born and brought up in Leeds, I chose to base the business in Bradford. This is now a global business that I am growing steadily,” Sharon shares.

She places great importance on learning new skills, describing herself as a “life-long learner”. This is evident in her impressive list of qualifications, including a degree in Business Studies, an MSc in Strategic Leadership, and she is soon to add an MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics to her achievements.
