AIA LAY MEMBER SHORTLISTED FOR NATIONAL DIVERSITY AWARD 2023

AIA Lay Member Ranjana Bell MBE has been announced as a finalist for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award at the 2023 National Diversity Awards. The accolade, renowned for celebrating individuals who have made exceptional and enduring contributions to their respective fields, recognises Ranjana’s outstanding dedication and impact within the field of equality and diversity.

Ranjana has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to building a fairer and more equitable society throughout her career. Her exceptional contributions have not only shaped equality and diversity policies but have also motivated countless professionals to aspire to greatness.

She expressed her gratitude for the recognition, saying, I am truly humbled to be considered for the Lifetime Achievement award. My 40-year career in equality and diversity have been challenging to say the least as we all know legislation does not change hearts and minds. I remain appreciative of the opportunities to learn, evolve, and contribute.

This prestigious acknowledgment comes on the heels of Ranjana’s noteworthy involvement as Chair of the Board for The Road to Recovery Trust, which is a charity that supports people on their journey of recovery from addiction. The Trust was the winner of the 2021 3rd Sector Award given by Asian Business Connexions. She has also been named as The Volunteer of the Year by the National British Association of Women in Policing (BAWP), and was added to the 2022 Northern Power Women List by Northern Power Women.

An astonishing 90,000 people were nominated for the 12th National Diversity Awards with 120 nominees recognised for their various achievements nationwide. The winner of the Lifetime Achievement award will be unveiled by Clare Balding, CBE on 15 September in Liverpool.
