Structure
The qualification consists of 4 components which are tested via a single, online, multiple choice exam. Exam sessions are held in May and November each year.
Depending on your schedule, you could complete the course in as little as 6 to 9 months. Enrol at any time.
Financial Accounting
This unit is designed to ensure that students can:
- Explain and identify accounting concepts and the regulatory purpose of accounting standards
- Describe, prepare and summarise basic accounting records
- Identify accounting concepts in presenting financial statements for unincorporated and incorporated business entities
- Describe and explain the financial position and performance of an entity
Business Management
This unit covers:
- The major schools of management thought
- The key aspects of organisational culture and design
- The main elements of organisational control and the importance of management information in the control process
- The use of information technology in modern business management
Management Accounting
This unit focuses on:
- The role of management and cost accounting within an organisation
- The nature of costs and their classification including the calculation of material, labour, expense and overhead costs for various products and services
- Financial decision making
Corporate Governance and Audit
This unit outlines:
- The purpose of corporate governance and auditing
- The inter-relationship between corporate governance and auditing
- How corporate governance and auditing contribute to the safeguarding of capital markets
