Catherine Tan

Catherine Tan (Tan Thiam Lee) is a seasoned corporate services professional with over 20 years of experience in Malaysian and international secretarial practices. She brings strategic insight and regional expertise to the AIA Singapore Management Committee, helping to promote professional excellence and regulatory engagement.

Currently, Catherine serves as CEO of the International Division at Cheng & Co Group. She is also Business Development Director at Cheng & Co Advisory (S) Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of CC International Berhad, listed on Bursa Malaysia. In these roles, she leads cross-border advisory services and supports clients expanding into key jurisdictions. These include Singapore, Hong Kong, China, ASEAN, and various offshore markets.

Over the years, Catherine has focused on corporate restructuring, secretarial services, and business advisory. She has helped businesses navigate incorporation, compliance, and governance across Southeast Asia. In particular, she played a key role in the 2024 merger between Cheng & Co and Highlight Business Services (HBS), which strengthened corporate service offerings in Singapore.

In addition to her professional achievements, Catherine holds an MBA from Wawasan Open University. She is widely recognised for her leadership in international business development. Moreover, her consulting experience and work with multinational clients make her a valuable contributor to AIA’s CPD programmes.

As a member of the AIA Singapore Management Committee, Catherine offers practical expertise and regional perspective. She helps shape CPD offerings, encourages professional networking, and supports AIA’s engagement with local institutions and regulators.

Ultimately, her presence on the committee enhances AIA’s ability to respond to industry developments and promote best practices in corporate governance and advisory services.
