During the Assessment

All AIA exams are invigilated and recorded via the secure online assessment platform. By entering the exam, you confirm your consent to both invigilation and recording. If you do not consent, your exam will be postponed and rescheduled for a future session, with an additional exam fee.

The Invigilators may need to warn you if you are suspected of infringing the exam regulations.

You may not leave the exam once it starts, except in an emergency and with Invigilator approval. Leaving without permission means you cannot continue the exam.

You are not allowed to possess or use/attempt to use any unauthorised materials (including any books or pre-test notes) while the exam is in progress except if approved by AIA.

Using electronic devices during the exam is not allowed, including mobile phones (except for approved setup use), smart technology, or anything that can capture images or audio. You must not take screenshots, record questions, or use your phone during the test. Dictionaries, electronic translators, and calculators that store or display text are also prohibited.

Candidates must not communicate with others, seek help, or copy during the exam—including viewing another candidate’s screen. Breaking this rule may result in disqualification. If you need technical support, use the Chat Box to contact the Invigilator.

You may use your own desktop or laptop to sit the exam, but it must meet AIA’s system requirements. A link to access the exam will be emailed to you before the test—please ensure your contact details are up to date so you receive the instructions.

You must not write any form of obscenity in the computer screens provided for your responses.

You must comply with any instructions which may appear at the top (or in other parts) of the computer screen for each question.

You must stop typing answers at the end of the time allowed for the exam, and the exam session will end automatically after your allotted time.

Adjustments are designed to accommodate your usual way of working wherever possible.
